Q: What new products are you planning to release?
A: We always post new and upcoming products on the ICE
homepage and the HARPHQ homepage
Q: Will you be releasing computer support for your products?
A: We are currently reviewing several Rolemaster support software
submissions, and it will only be a matter of time before computer
support is available.
Q: What do I do if I buy a misprinted ICE book?
A: If you buy and ICE book directly from us or from any other
retailer and it has blurry pages, missing pages or any other really
annoying misprints that make it hard to read, please email
Customer Service with the name of the book, where and when
you bought it, a description of the problem and what pages are
messed up. Misprints are not very common, but they do occur and
we are more than happy to trade you for a new, pristine copy!
Q: What method of payment can I use on the ICE Online Store?
A: The ICE Online Store accepts these credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.
Q: How long do I have to download the PDF I just ordered?
A: You have 24 hours from the time you place your order to download your PDF. We decided to give everyone 24 hours in case you have a slow connection, computer problems, or you simply want to download it a few hours later when you have more time.
Q: I entered all the required personal and credit card info to purchase a PDF download but I do not get a download link?
A: If you've entered all the required info correctly the most likely reason is that there's a problem with the credit card approval process. So you understand better how it all works, here's a step-by-step explination:
There's quite a number of things that can go wrong with the credit card transaction, but the number one reason for not getting the download link is that the credit card is declined. Our suggestion is for you to try another of your credit cards or call your credit card company to see what the problem could be.
A Note On Credit Card Fraud: We know that it can be very frustrating when your PDF download purchase is not approved, but at this time credit card fraud is rampant on the internet and ICE makes sure all of it's credit card sales are 100% legitimate. ICE will not tolerate any type of fraudulent activity, so if you're thinking of use a stolen credit card or using one that you know is over-limit, you better think again. Credit card fraud is a felony crime and we take it very seriously.
Q: When I downloaded my PDF book I got a "Zip" file. What is a "Zip" file and what do I do with it?
A: When ICE posts it's PDFs we place them in a compressed Zip file so the file size is smaller and quicker to download. Zip files are "archives" used for distributing and storing files. Zip files contain one or more files. Usually the files "archived" in a Zip are compressed to save space. Zip files make it easy to group files and make transporting and copying these files faster.
The ZIP file you downloaded from the ICE Online Store contains the PDF book and you must "unzip" the compressed ZIP file to get to the PDF.
To "unzip" the Zip file we recommend you download and use a utility called WinZip You can download a fully functional evaluation version from the WinZip Download Page, or place an order for the registered version from the WinZip Ordering Information Page. In addition to WinZip here are some other utilites that we've personally used and recommend:
Q: Why Does ICE Use Zip Files?
A: ICE uses Zip files because they save time and space, and make downloading software and transferring e-mail attachments faster. Typical uses for Zip files include:
Q: Where can I buy or get information on ICEs old Middle-earth products?
A: Simply stated, ICE no longer sells, supports or provides
rules, card lists or any other material or information related
to our old Middle-earth games. We no longer hold the
license for Middle-earth gaming products, so as such we
do not sell or support any of our old Middle-earth products
including Middle-earth Roleplaying or the Middle-earth
Collectible Card Game. If you are seeking information on any
of our old Middle-earth games our best suggestion is to
do an internet search—there are hundreds of sites out there
that have the info you're looking for. If you are looking to fill
in the holes in your Middle-earth Roleplaying collection
we recommend eBay.
Q: Will ICE be releasing a D20 version of Rolemaster?
A: ICE will not be releasing D20 products, but we have issued
a license to another company to do so. Please
see the official Press Release for more information.
Q: What is the difference between the Rolemaster Standard System (the
RMSS) and the Rolemaster Fantasy Roleplaying (RMFRP)?
A: The RMFRP is a simplified and reorganized subset of the RMSS.
Both systems are completely compatible. So when you are using
the RMFRP or buying RMFRP products you are actually using RMSS
products. Until ICE posts its own detailed article, we suggest
you read the article written by our friend Brent Knorr: RMSS
vs. RMFRP (PDF file).
Q: I would like to write for ICE. How do I go about it?
A: We are preparing standard contracts and policies for this right
now, but they aren't complete yet. So in the meantime, please
email our President, Heike Kubasch with your queries.
